Charity Search Summary API
Start Here: This method enables you to search the entire database of IRS-registered nonprofits. Use this API to return multiple charities based on user inputs such as an EIN, charity name, category, city, state, and ZIP Code. You can control the number of records that are returned and the page position to implement Pagination. To filter out ineligible organizations, pass the value eligible=1. Select the read more option below for a complete list of the values returned by this method.
Charity NTEE Classification API
OrgHunter uses the NTEE Classification System developed by the National Center for Charitable Statistics as part of its keyword searching criteria. The IRS and NCCS use the National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) system to classify nonprofit organizations. The Foundation Center also uses it to classify both grants and grant recipients (typically nonprofits or governments).
